Discover two of Madrid's most important cities in a single day: Segovia and Toledo. In the morning, we'll visit Toledo, where we'll see landmarks such as the Church of Santo Tomé and the Synagogue of Santa María la Blanca. In the afternoon, you'll explore sites like the Aqueduct, the Alcázar, and the Cathedral of Segovia.
In the morning, we'll begin our journey to Toledo, the city of three cultures, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1986.
Those who opt for the general tour will have the opportunity to admire the Monastery of San Juan de los Reyes, the most important building constructed by the Catholic Monarchs and commissioned by Queen Isabella of Castile to serve as a royal mausoleum. Immediately afterward, we'll walk to the Synagogue of Santa María la Blanca. Originally built as a synagogue, it was expropriated and converted into a church just 211 years after opening its doors.
For those who prefer to explore Toledo independently, you'll have the opportunity to discover the city at your own pace. Its fascinating blend of cultures will surprise you at every turn, with its rich architectural and cultural diversity. You can visit the Church of Santo Tomé, home to one of El Greco's most celebrated works, and immerse yourself in the history of a city that stands as a living testament to the coexistence of Christians, Muslims, and Jews.
It will NEXT be time to return to Madrid, where you'll have approximately one hour for lunch.
Refreshed, we'll depart from the Julià Travel office towards Segovia. We'll park very close to the Aqueduct, which will be the first monument we encounter in the city. Composed of 167 arches, it is considered one of the best-preserved in the world.
Those who have opted for the general tour will have the opportunity to take a walking tour of the city, which will first lead them to the Plaza Mayor. Several monuments can be found in this area, such as Segovia's City Hall and the Juan Bravo Theatre, although the Cathedral is the main attraction.
The walking tour continues to the Alcázar, one of the best-preserved and most famous medieval castles in the world. It is even said to have inspired Walt Disney for some of his films, such as Cinderella's Castle and the Queen's Castle in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
Those who have chosen the "On Your Own" option can enjoy the city at their own pace. The guide will inform them of the meeting point and the exact return time to Madrid, allowing them to plan their time with complete ease. This option includes entrance to the Cathedral, so they can visit it independently during their stay in Segovia.
