Just 43 km southeast of the city of Malargüe, the imposing Malacara Volcano invites you to explore a unique landscape full of natural history. With its 1800 meters above sea level, this volcano is the result of a hydro-magmatic eruption, a spectacle of nature that occurs when lava comes into contact with water, generating powerful explosions and fascinating landscapes. Its erosion, shaped by wind and water, has created passageways, chimneys almost 30 meters high and gullies unique in the world.
The tour starts at the Quesada post, from where a vehicle will take you to the base of the volcano. There begins a walk that will take you to the heart of this geological wonder. During approximately two hours of moderate trekking, you will discover the majesty of the gullies. You will explore "Los Puentes", feel the magic of "Tyto Alba" (home of the White Owl that nests on the walls of the volcano) and immerse yourself in the enigmatic "Dark Gullies".
The tour culminates in a viewpoint that will leave you breathless. From this privileged point, you can contemplate the Llancanelo Lagoon, the DS3 antenna, the majestic Andes Mountains and La Payunia, home to the largest concentration of volcanoes in South America.

It is recommended to wear appropriate footwear for hiking and a coat. In summer it is advisable to bring a hat or sun cap, sunscreen and water.
