Nazareth and the Sea of Galilee - 1-Day Tour from Jerusalem

Travel through the Plain of Armageddon to the city of Nazareth to visit the Church of the Annunciation and St. Joseph's Carpentry. Continue through Cana to the Sea of ??Galilee to see the Mount of Beatitudes. Stop at the Church of the Multiplication in Tabgha and visit Capernaum. Cross Tiberias and visit the baptism site in the Jordan River: Yardenit.

Itinerary:
Start the day with a drive along the coastal road, traveling along the Mediterranean Sea.

Drive through the Plain of Armageddon (Megiddo) to the city of Nazareth, with a brief stop at Mount Precipice.

The first stop in Nazareth will be the Church of the Annunciation, the most impressive and spectacular site in the city, considered one of the holiest churches in Christianity. On the ground floor of the church is the Grotto of the Annunciation, which Catholics consider the remains of Mary's childhood home.

Next to the church, visit St. Joseph's Carpentry Shop, believed to be Joseph's carpentry workshop.

From Nazareth, pass through nearby Cana—site of Jesus' first miracle: turning water into wine—to the Sea of ??Galilee.

See the Mount of Beatitudes, where, according to tradition, Jesus delivered the Sermon on the Mount, before arriving in Capernaum, an ancient fishing village on the shores of the Sea of ??Galilee that was the center of Jesus' messianic work. Known as "his city," he spent much of his life here, healing the sick, preaching in the synagogue, and performing miracles.

Next to the shore, visit Tabgha and the church commemorating the miracle of the Multiplication of the Loaves and Fishes.

Continue through Tiberias, named after the Roman emperor, to the baptism site in the Jordan River: Yardenit.

At the FINAL of the day, return to the pickup point, passing Mount Tabor, the site of the Transfiguration en route.
