Explore the authentic culture and traditions of Lamas, a native village in the Peruvian Amazon. This cultural expedition takes you to Lamas, where you'll delve into the local way of life, art, and craft. Witness the remarkable handiwork of the locals, including their intricate pottery and vibrant textiles. Your journey will also lead you to the historic Lamas Castle, where you can unravel stories of ancient indigenous communities.
ITINERARY
At the beginning of the tour we will pick you up starting at 3pm to go to the folklore capital of San Martín, Lamas.
In the city, we will visit its main square where we will learn part of its history.
Later, we will go to the indigenous museum where we will learn about part of the customs and traditions of the Waykus, the native community of the city.
At the FINAL we will go to see the popular Lamas castle, picturesque medieval castle of Lamas, a unique place in the entire Amazon as it is built and decorated like a medieval European fortress. We will take a tour of its interior and we will discover some details that explain the reason for this unique construction.
Finally, we will visit the Wayku neighborhood and its indigenous community. There we can discover their ancestral culture and acquire some of their traditional crafts in the market in the neighborhood square.
Then around 6:30 we will return to Tarapoto and FALL you off at your hotel.
