On this vibrant excursion we will visit the impressive fumaroles of the Tatio geothermal field, in the heart of the Altiplano at more than 4,000 meters above sea level. Our trip to the Altiplano begins early in the morning, to see the sunrise in one of the most important geothermal fields in the world: the Tatio Geysers, where we will walk around the more than 80 active geysers present. Later we will have breakfast in the area to start our return trip. We will pass through the Machuca wetlands, a slow-flowing body of water, which is a niche for flora and fauna, we will see various birds, including flamingos, and the occasional vicuña. This bofedal owes its name to the town of Machuca, a local town that we will see on the way, with barely twenty houses made of adobe, straw and cactus wood. We will also visit the Putana wetland, a nesting place for various migratory birds and an observation point for the incredible view of the altiplano, the mountain ranges and volcanoes in the background.
Please note that some city hotels are not included in our pick up itinerary.
