Enjoy a unique experience crossing some of Catamarca's most stunning landscapes. The route begins by crossing the majestic Quebrada de la Cébila, a true natural gateway connecting the Central Valley with the western part of the province. As we continue, the road is surrounded by a spectacle of green mountains and capriciously shaped hills, until we reach Quebrada de los Colorados, where the reddish tones of the earth contrast with the clear sky, creating an unforgettable picture.
We continue through the charming Villa Mazán and the city of Aimogasta, renowned for its centuries-old walnut and olive groves, before joining a section of the legendary National Route 40, always flanked by vineyards and mountain landscapes.
One of the most exciting moments of the trip is a visit to the El Shincal Archaeological Site in Quimivil, the ancient capital of the Inca empire in the region. There, amidst ceremonial sites and the remains of its grand central plaza, the past comes alive, revealing the grandeur of an ancient civilization.
The tour continues to London, the second oldest city in Argentina, which preserves the charm of its colonial history, and culminates in Belén, the warm "Birthplace of the Poncho." In this picturesque city, you can discover the art of the Arañitas Hilanderas (Spinning Spiders), women who keep alive a unique weaving tradition in the country, a symbol of Catamarcan identity and pride.
Admission to Shincal de Quimivil is not included. It is paid upon entry and costs approximately AR$5,000 per person.
